It a good idea to open up the grid to different power sources, including nuclear. What I didn't see in the bill was any measure to repair and replace failing infrastructure. We don't make our own power transformers anymore, that's a china thing. We need to build our own devices again.

Boy Joseph - you are spot on, and there is going to be a HUGE call for micro grids, and my podcast with Mark Lancaster today talked about solutions folks are going to have to do - put in smaller solutions and then keep them available for emergancy fail over - Mark mentioned the grid infrustructure parts and availability and how he handles that for his customers. -This is opening up great opportunities for smaller businesses to get involved -

The bigger topic is the distributed management of the grid, rather than the centralized management. Have a fantastic 4th!!!!!!

The BBB is just another example of poor energy policies continuing to be implemented. I mean battery backup or storage, come on man! A completely redundant system with extraordinary expenses. It makes no sense. 36 trillion in debt, should mean absolutely no subsidies for any base load electricity production. Including nuclear and geothermal. Btw, just how many geothermal plants are currently operating in North America and what is their output and maximum capacity. Very disappointing all this pork was pushed thru on the big Fat Pork bill of 2025.

I could not agree more - the RINOs kicked us in the back yet again. This gets me fired up for the midterms now. - We have a country to save, and it has to start with getting the RINOs that won't stand up for us - then we can watch the Democrats just keep doing what they are doing - People have to wake up, and I am planning on trying to do what I can and share the great things of our country, and interview the new candidates willing to fight for our country.

I am deeply grateful to you and all our other wonderful readers. While we receive 65,000 to 127,000 visitors to the Energy News Beat website, this is where you can comment, and I learn from the great comments of our readers. You can help shape the news and narrative here, as well as with other notable Substack authors like David Blackmon and Nathan Hammer.

Alas, while I agree with you both we have to be smart about the politics. Yes, Murkowski is a disaster and we could probably replace her with someone smarter on energy, taxes, and spending. But go to Maine and Collins may be the best possible Republican we could get. Replacing Cornyn makes sense but Paxton has a lot of baggage and we risk losing that seat if people are turned off by him. So, while the bill is a mess, I see it as a net positive (tax cuts and limits on renewable subsidies) which is probably the best we could do with the slim margins we have.

Urs, Excellent points - This will be the wildest time in our lives for political races. That includes local races, and I encourage everyone to get involved, down to the school boards in your areas. We can't sit on the sidelines anymore. As Geenevieve Collins, the head of the Dallas Americans for Prosperity, points out, it starts in our communities. And her organization has done great things in motivating people at the grassroots level. - I spoke with David Blackmon, whom I greatly respect and appreciate, and we are launching the series on the political front. So any ideas and input you have would be greatly appreciated!
