Yes this sounds like a great comment, but then you have to wonder why Octopus is making this seemingly ration observation.

My take in that - right or wrong

1. They want to make money off that market.

2. Octopus buying that excess energy is better than the government paying them to not produce.

3. If the government then orders the sale of the excess energy to Octopus (at a very favorable rate) the actual cost should go down for consumers. That has yet to be seen.....

4. Will the UK government move away from a government run grid and pick winners and losers to take over the market.... yet to be seen.
