Following my previous two posts here and here on the nuclear fuel supply chain, in this post I will look at the geopolitical concerns relating to Russia’s dominance of certain parts of the supply of nuclear materials to civil generation programmes.
Great article. I've been especially interested in Fast Nuclear Reactors and breeder reactors, but didn't know there were corrosion concerns from the coolants used, or that they were more expensive than water-cooled. Will that mean a shorter lifetime, or higher maintenance costs, or both?
On the stock market, when I saw the price of uranium start downward a week or so ago, I thought it might be a good opportunity to buy, but either I was wrong or I was right but too early - it's continued downward a little every day. (as of 2/25/24)
