Another great discussion. It’s encouraging hearing there is not a measurable increase in people believing climate change is the next catastrophe facing humanity 🀣. More people are getting involved and informed, largely from independent media sources like Substack! Keep up the great work πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŸ

Thank you Dave, it was way cool getting to talk with Tom, Tammy and David yesterday - they all are great leaders!!! I was encouraged by the shift in the narrative.

Of course there’s also the analogy of digging a hole you can’t get out of, so you stop digging down and try and tunnelling out. In times of much anxiety from the belief the world for them is getting progressively worse, geopolitics, nuclear annihilation or ecological disaster, where the chance of improving their lifestyle and survival looks more and more difficult. People go through denial, anger, depression, testing, and eventually acceptance, and for many, a belief that there is an afterlife, religionπŸ€”

Stuart Turley & Co and guest Tom Nelson:

Let me first disclose, I’m a believer in AGW, the difference is I believe that if we (Humanity) stopped burning flammable fossils tomorrow, there is so much thermal inertia in Earth’s system no one alive today would see any reduction in global temperatures in their lifetime, in fact just the opposite. But you guys will probably all be alright, that’s if you’re over 45 yoa, but I pity the ecological legacy your grand and great grandchildren will inherit.

I’m guessing the Poll David Blackmon’s referred to was the GALLOP Poll, strange though that unlike David’s spin on it, this is what (April 16 2025) GALLOP Social & Policy Issues, had to say: β€œRecord-High 48% Call Global Warming a Serious Threat. Americans' belief that global warming's effects have already begun is also at historical high, but personal concern about issue is steady”.

Of course it’s possible GALLOP could possibly have as much a cognitive bias as David Blackmon, but then that’s often the nature of Polls and how it’s used information is extracted and presented.

Most of the information peddled on a nuclear is over hyped propaganda. SMR’s (Small Modular Reactors) are basically Small Nuclear Reactors with the word Nuclear removed and Modular inserted, presumably in the belief that the majority of the public are clueless morons, and so if doesn’t say Nuclear they will be more accommodating of it, many may well be, but many are not. The concept of Small Nuclear Reactors and their applications started in 1950’s and was deployed in submarines and aircraft carriers and a number of other military applications, BUT PLEASE NOTE the fuel used is U235 classified as MILITARY GRADE, which poses a security issue, of course the military and others that use this grade of fuel, need trained armed security, something the military don’t have a problem with. Then there’s the issue of safety, a critical issue when deploying any nuclear fuelled reactor especially in the vicinity of civilians, of course if you’re a country the likes of China, Russia, North Korea it’s not a problem siting an SMR when it’s rapped in a web of safety lies.

And please note High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU), which has a higher enrichment level than conventional nuclear fuel, is needed for many advanced reactor designs, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) that use sodium as a coolant. HALEU contains between 5% and 20% Uranium-235, while conventional reactors typically use fuel enriched to 3-5%, and of course there’s the question of its disposal, I could go on, but check it outπŸ€”
